to participate in a research study, and we greatly appreciate your consideration. Your participation will be extremely valuable in our attempts to better understand teacher/student communication and the role it plays in learning. Participation in this study is completely voluntary.

purpose of this research study is to understand the motivations that
underlie teacher behaviors in and outside of the classroom. Specifically,
college teachers will be asked to respond to a series of questions regarding
the frequency with which they employ a variety of teaching strategies as
well as to indicate their intended purpose in doing so.
OF PARTICIPANTS & STUDY LOCATION:
study will enroll approximately 200 participants and will take place entirely
online via the protected survey website qualtrics.com.
must be 18 years of age or older and currently teaching a course in higher
education (i.e., collegiate or university level education).
you agree to participate in the study you will be asked to complete a short
online survey that will take about 15-20 minutes of your time and is

directly benefit from participation in this study. However, your responses
may assist researchers studying teacher behaviors and motivations in the
collegiate context, and the results may be disseminated in a way that
benefits science/society in general.
There are no known or anticipated
harms or discomforts associated with this survey research.
All surveys will be stored
in a locked file cabinet or
on password-protected software to which
only the Investigators will have access. The data you provide cannot be
linked individually to you.
You will not be compensated
for your participation in this study.
There is no cost to participate.
